Eagles [live]

By orangedrink on August 26, 2018 9:22 pm

Live performance with Digitakt, OP-1, SM58 microphone connected to DL4 delay pedal and Holy Grail reverb.  All connected to a 402VLZ mixer.  Slightly truncated and added compression in Ableton, EQ and mastering done in Reason.  I filmed it with three cameras, so that will be fun once I get that edited together!

I'm back from my first real vacation in many years.  Maybe 7?  I was so busy having fun that I actually had no time to work on the Digitakt.  BUT I got into it full force as soon as I got home.  I printed out the instruction manual and have set a goal to sit down and learn something new with each track I write on it.  Having hardware is awesome and I want to play a "No Computer" electronic music show one of these days.

I have a show on Saturday (with WeeklyBeats' own IPAGHOST!) in Milwaukee and I am super stressed out about it.  I know it will be great and will be a lot of fun, but the pre-show anxiety is just really annoying.

In other news, an acquaintance committed suicide two weeks ago (23 years old), a friend's brother passed away after dementia complications that same week, and a friend's stepkids' father was hit-and-run by a drunk driver while on a bike ride, in front of the kids.  He was hospitalized and passed away a few days later.

This track is dedicated to them.

Good luck with your gig. My condolences.

Outstading mix; first-class job on the "reverse" lead.

Sorry for all the sad happenings.  That's certainly no fun. This track has a really nice energy to it and I like how the vocals seem to kind of materialize out of thin air and then get kind of trance inducing.  Good luck at your gig.  I'm sure you'll do awesome.

rough week sad hope the gig went well!

that's some crazy stuff, hope you have a great time at your show, wish I could see it, like the delayed vocals that creep in on this, great lead that keeps the track momentum going

Great track! Hope your gig went well (I'm sure it did).
Very sorry to hear about all the sad events, my condolences.

Holy shit, that's a lot of sad news in a week. Sorry to hear it.

A lot of intensity and layers in the track. Lots of chaos but forms a solid tapestry. Electronic but very punk rock / hardcore energy. Very cool outro delay loop sounds into single organ / synth seems to give peace at the end. Well done!

I'm so sorry about your friends. You made some amazing art that you've dedicated to them, and I think that's amazing.

PS the fucking vox on this are MINT.

all these things happening around you, and you still pulled though a track, one of kind

looking forward to the edit
great build ups
